About Mom's Hungry Kitchen
My Career
I am Maria Monastero-Orszula, a Chicago-based content creator with lifelong experience in the restaurant industry. I managed my family’s restaurant, Monastero's Ristorante & Banquets, for 16 of the 55 years it proudly served Chicagoland. I bring an authentic, insider perspective to everything related to food and hospitality.
I am a home cook, with a foodie palette. I love good quality ingredients and look forward to working with brands I believe in.
Following the closing of Monastero’s, I have led multiple philanthropic campaigns in my Park Ridge, Illinois, community. Most recently, I spearheaded the funding of 11 new inclusive playgrounds in Park Ridge designed for children with disabilities—an achievement I am deeply proud of.
My Family
I am a mother of three wonderful children, ages 4, 13, and 16, and have been married for 17 years. Becoming a content creator has given me the flexibility to remain present for my children while building a brand and business of my own. I love that my kids are able to watch me grow something meaningful using my skills and education. My family is my world.
My Goals
My goal for Mom’s Hungry Kitchen is to grow a trusted, highly engaged community where my audience feels confident in everything I recommend—from recipes to restaurants and travel.
Long term, I hope to partner with brands I trust and continue sharing my family’s recipes, bringing my food back into the world the way my father once did.
